Earth Hour is approaching fast.
It is an annual international event designed to raise awareness about climate change.
It sends a message to governments around the world that we are concerned about climate change & the planet's future.

To participate, households and businesses simply turn off their lights and non essential electrical appliances for one hour.
It doesn't have to be a chore- you can make it a fun time. Kids really get into the spirit of Earth hour.
Here is a starting list of some activities that you can do without electricity- feel free to submit some more ideas.
With Friends or Partners
Host a dinner party by candle light- make sure that everything is cooked well in advance & enjoy the evening with friends.
Glow in the Dark party-Find some glow-in-the-dark accessories for guests to wear.
Serve green cocktails with glow-in-the-dark ice cube.
Use some sparklers for writing in the air
Serve finger foods that don’t need to be cooked.
Spark up some romance. Have a picnic in the living room with candles, or have a romantic candlelight dinner
Spend some quality special time with your partner.

Go camping for the weekend
If you can't manage to get away for the weekend, turn your living room into a camping spot- If you have kids, bring out the torches, toast marshmallows in the fireplace (if you have one), or over some candles and tell ghost stories.
