Style Muse- Michelle Obama

Today we are taking a peek at Style Muse, America’s first lady, Michelle Obama, and her style that she has brought White House.

Her style is classic, with a modern twist. She always looks elegant, has a penchant for pearls and bright colours, and isn’t afraid to give hitherto unknown designers a go.

She has beeen listed in Vanity Fair's magazine's "10 of the World's Best Dressed People" in both 2007 and 2008.
So stylish is she, that she is featured on the cover of the up coming issue of Vogue (the only other first lady to be featured on the cover was Hillary Clinton)

On fashion she says:
“ I want women to feel good about themselves and have fun with fashion”

The bold choice of an optimistic yellow coat worn on inauguration day is by Isabel Toledo, a 48-year-old Cuban-American designer.
The one-shoulder ivory gown by Jason Wu, a 26-year-old Taipei-born, American-based designer.

She is also elegant in casual clothing- as seen below:
Oscar de la Renta has been quoted in Women's Wear Daily as saying: "It's not only about the way she dresses, but also the way she will conduct her life. The eyes of the world will be on her. She will have a big impact,"

We can look forwards to many more outfits, and will keep you updated, because here at Design Fling we say YES WE CAN.
